Sony Alpha A230 Camera Error Message
I bought this less than a year ago. Have you got another one you can try in it? If nothing seems obviously stuck in there, it may be worth contacting Sony Customer Services to find out about a possible repair. - The round-trip to Sony was five weeks for the first one; the second is supposedly now on its way back from Sony about three weeks from being dropped off at Best
- Will I have to take it repair store, and if so is it going to cost me a lot of money (feeling pretty poor at the moment).
- If the lens is OK and the reason is as proposed that the sensor is somehow moved far from its normal position I am still suprised that you can get any

But, it sounds like your problem is likely electrical in nature (not getting a good enough connection between the camera and lens due to dirty electrical contacts or a poor connection,

I tried to turn off the SSI, but I couldn't as the option was 'greyed' out and has already been turned off. There may be some kind of debris that is blocking the shutter, or it may require cleaning. I ask because I suspect that the problem could be in the camera itself (possibly the shutter) rather than the lens and trying with a different lens would provide more information. Sign in to make your opinion count. But it also happened whilst in Spain. Basically the lense snaps a pic, but it so slow and the pic comes out all black. I'd also reset the camera to factory defaults, just in case a setting in causing a problem.
