Dave February 10, 2012 As always, unplug any external devices (printers, etc) before restoring. This process of making a recovery disk set is frustrating as it often fails. There was no system restore points for me to revert to so whenever it gets too bad I normally create another user account and that seems to do the trick at

If the hard drive you're using has what is now the industry standard 4K sectors, you will get this error. If it doesn't, tap F8 when booting and look at the boot options-one of those might launch the backup and recovery manager. E.S. and it WORKED!
I guess it is error 333 now. i barely used the laptop and while doing a update to security the battery died then it would not bot up fully. My VAIO came with full versions of Adobe Photoshop, Premier Elements and Acrobat Standard. Sorry to hear about that.
